Tom Kelly and Billy Steinberg are known as former songwriters and background vocalists for REO Speedwagon. They developed as songwriters for artists like the Bangles, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, Roger Daltrey, ELO, Heart, Madonna and Rick Springfield.
The album Taking a cold look was released in 1983 and re-released in 2000. i-TEN turned out to be a temporary project with a lot of Toto co-operation. The album was produced and arranged by Keith Olsen (The Babys, Pat Benatar, Fleetwood Mac, Sammy Hagar, Santana, Whitesnake) and Steve Lukather.
The album is a typical A.O.R. album with a lot of musical references to the early work of Toto. According to the timetable, it easily could be the fifth Toto album. In the end Toto got their second lead singer Fergie Frederiksen back in 1984 and made the harder edged album Isolation.
