News - By Arend, Jan 18, 2014 8:39 AMPaul McCartney and Ringo Starr will both perform at this year's Grammy Awards, though it is unclear whether they will share the stage.
The two surviving Beatles members have been confirmed as performers at the awards ceremony later this month as their former band is honoured with the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award – 49 years after the Fab Four won Best New Artist at the 1965 Grammys.The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 26, 2014, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The show will broadcast on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/P.
The night after the Grammys a television special called The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute To The Beatles will be recorded. The show will air on February 9th, the 50th anniversary of the band's first US TV appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. It will feature covers of Beatles songs by contemporary and heritage acts.Steve Lukather has been asked to join Ringo's contirbution to both events.
